On Monday 24 November we held a Tea-Riffic Tea Party to raise funds for Asthma UK.
Asthma UK is the UK’s leading asthma charity. There are over five million people with asthma in the UK and over 10% of our students here at school are diagnosed asthmatics on daily medication.
We want to live in a world where asthma is no longer a daily battle for some and where no one dies from the condition. Currently three families every day lose someone to asthma and every 10 seconds someone has a potentially life threatening asthma attack. Asthma UK is working to make this happen through world-leading research, award-winning information and services and life-changing campaigns but need our help in fundraising.
The Tea Party was a huge success and attended by over 100 people. Buns, cakes and tombola prizes were donated by parents, staff, friends and our school kitchen and we raised the huge amount of £523.60!!
Well done Jack for estimating the length of the cables in the jar. I’m sure your family will enjoying playing with the remote control helicopter!
A huge thanks to the parents and grandparents who helped out on the day (they even did the washing up!) but especially to the children who were fantastic ambassadors on the day.
At St John’s, we believe that by combining our strength and by working together as a school community, our work and challenges are shared.
‘”Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.”‘ John 17:11
