If three quarters of the world is covered in water then why do some people have none? This was a question the teachers asked the children in Year 2.
As part of our water topic Sycamore and Beech started to look more closely at those countries which don’t have access to clean water. They were shocked to find that children of their age could not attend school because they spent most of their day walking miles to collect water for their families. The children were even more shocked to find that the water these children were collecting was not even clean and safe to drink. They wanted to do something to help!
Year 2 decided that they wanted to raise money for the amazing charity, ‘WaterAid’ by holding a bun sale. From the shopping to the marketing, baking to selling, the children organised it all. They raised over £65 for charity and were very proud of themselves!
