A huge well done and thank you to all the children and staff who took part in the Extreme Reading Challenge. We had over 100 entries and it has been wonderful to see so many of you reading in different and unusual places. The staff and children loved seeing all the entries in our assembly on Thursday.
Children in year 1 and 2 have been exploring the use of Bee bots and pro bots as part of their computing lessons. Children have worked in groups to complete challenges; returning to their instructions to try and make them more accurate or efficient.
Children persevered with each challenge and did not give in. If it was not a perfect finish then it was back to the start to try and improve their program.
The art gallery has had an update. Current work includes photography from year 6, painted fireworks from nursery, watercolours from year 2 and pencil work from year 5 and 4. Year 3 produced artwork as part of their family day visit to Cartwright Hall in Bradford.
The children in Key Stage One had a very exciting start to their day today…they found out that they would be spending the whole morning working in the dark! The lights were turned off and the windows blacked out. The classrooms were then decorated in a wonderful array of colourful lights. “I had to do my work with a torch!” The adults and children carried on their morning as normal with the added excitement of warm hot chocolate and marshmallows outside. Inside they learned about shadows and tried to make there own lights using the electric circuits in the science area.
