Year three were set an optional challenge to design a christmas tree topper for their class christmas trees! Lots of fantastic creations appeared and Miss Sales in Year 5 came to judge and select a winner from each class. Well done to everyone who took part! The trees are now looking fantastic!
This half term during our indoor PE gymnastics, we have been looking at rolls and balances. Here are a few groups who worked well to put a short routine together.
Key stage 2 classes have been visited by the Google Expeditions team. Each class had thirty minutes to explore various locations as part of their topic work. Some classes went to the moon and others went deep into the Ocean. Each ‘tour’ was led by class teachers and children had the opportunity to look around the location using the virtual reality headsets (Google Cardboard) to found out more information. Although the visit was a one-off, the virtual expeditions have complimented the work done in history, geography and science.
To begin our term, Year three have been looking at whether pizza can be healthy or not. To help us to answer this question year three visited Pizza Express at Birstall and Clarence Dock. We had a fabulous time finding out about some pizza toppings and where they grow. We got to wear an apron and a hat and be real Pizziole. We enjoyed creating our pizza base and adding cheese and tomato.
Some of the children said that their favourite part was eating the pizza, others loved seeing the chef at the restaurant throw a pizza base into the air to make it bigger.
