Easter Worship

All children and staff attended our Easter Worship yesterday some Governors also visiting too. Our recorder club started our worship by performing Peace Perfect Peace. Despite their stage fright they impressed everyone with their first performance.

We sang a number of songs including Servant King and Hurray for Jesus. Everyone was given their palm cross and held them carefully during our Easter prayers. Some of our Year 6 children had prepared their own video version to accompany the hymn See What a Morning.

As the children left the hall they were also given an Easter Egg treat!

Education Sunday

To mark Education Sunday, Year 4 attended St John’s Church, Bierley to lead the worship on their on Sunday 8th February. Almost all of Year 4 attended with their parents. The children led the sermon with a presentation about the 800 year anniversary of the creation of the Magna Carta. Through their presentation, the children explained the significance of the signing of the Magna Carta and how this was a significant part of the Human Rights movement.

The Year 4 children also sang to the congregation. Have a listen to their performance below.

Harvest Festival

The whole school came together this morning to celebrate our Harvest Festival. We were visited by Frances Atkins from the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank who gratefully received our food donation to help families in need. She was also delighted to accept a cheque for over £500 from money raised by our School Council and some bake sales in Key Stage Two!

The School Choir also sang to two songs, Lean On Me and Love Can Build A Bridge. Francis explained that the logo for the Bradford Food Bank has a bridge on it with two people meeting, one giving food to the other.

Some of Year 5 Laurel class went out to Bierley Court with Mrs Lawley and Mr Sadler to sing some carols for the residents. We all had a great time and the audience were really impressed with the standard of the singing. We even got to sing Happy Birthday to one of the residents, who was celebrating their 90th birthday that day!
