Both children and adults dressed up as superheroes on Friday to raise money for Children in Need. Some adults and children even wore their underpants on the outside of their clothes!
The School Choir were particularly busy in the evening, performing a number of times live on the national and local Children in Need programme. They have also appeared in the Telegraph and Argus newspaper too! You can watch the choir perform by clicking the link below.
Well done everyone who took part; we raised over £440 for Children in Need.
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” Acts 20:35
Last week, Acorn and Catkin had a very exciting trip to Nell Bank. They explored the deep, dark wood in the hope of finding a Gruffalo!
On their journey, they met other characters from the story and learnt lots of interesting facts about owls, snakes, foxes and mice. The children also took part in other outdoor activities including hunting for minibeasts, pond dipping and collecting lots of natural things to make a Gruffalo crumble.
Everybody had a great time and would like to thank everybody at Nell Bank for such an enjoyable day.
To kick start our Rainforest topic in IPC the children in Year 3 and 4 have created their very own rainforest in the shared area! Children spent a week creating different animals from tissue paper, oil pastels and paints as well as creating trees and vines from cardboard.
A lot of staff and children from other year groups have commented on how effective it looks and how much effort the children from Lower Key Stage 2 have made.
The first exhibition to be shown in our new gallery area is to celebrate the area where we live. Each year group have thought about what they love about Bierley and Holmewood and responded by writing or creating art work. Here are the brochure pages for each class.
